100% MADE IN FRANCE

When we say "100% Made in France," we mean that our scented candles are entirely designed, crafted, assembled, and packaged in our workshop located in Charleville-Mézières, France. The ingredients used in our candles are also sourced from within France. Choosing a French-made product ensures compliance with stricter environmental, quality, and safety standards than those abroad. It also guarantees traditional craftsmanship and more transparent traceability. At LUMEN, we take pride in offering scented candles made with plant-based wax in France, and we are committed to prioritizing short supply chains and local partners.

Artisanal and Natural Candles

LUMEN's natural candles are handcrafted using plant-based wax, unlike traditional candles made from paraffin, a petroleum derivative. The fragrance is also an important indicator of quality. Natural candles are often scented with essential oils or fragrance extracts from Grasse, as we do at LUMEN, while synthetic candles use artificial fragrances that may contain toxic substances. Burn time is another revealing factor. Our candles feature a cotton wick (lead-free) that, combined with plant-based wax, burns slower and cleaner than synthetic candles, meaning they last longer and do not emit black smoke.

Candles Made with Plant-Based Wax, and Therefore… Vegan!

Plant-based wax is a natural substance derived from sources such as soy, coconut, sunflower, and more. The advantages of plant-based waxes for candles are numerous: they are more environmentally friendly, burn cleaner, and emit less smoke than mineral or animal-based waxes. Additionally, they can be scented with fragrance extracts from Grasse, essential oils, or plant-based fragrances to create natural scented candles. Of course, "plant-based wax" means vegan! Thanks to our plant-based wax, cotton wicks, and Grasse fragrance extracts, LUMEN candles contain no animal-derived ingredients. Vegan candles are an ethical and eco-friendly alternative to traditional candles, which are often made from beeswax or petroleum-based paraffin. These candles offer a cleaner flame, slower burn, and more pleasant diffusion of Grasse fragrance extracts, all while being kind to animals and the environment.
